Job Description

You'll cook fast, clean food on the line at a city hotel kitchen in Mogwase. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a city hotel kitchen in Mogwase. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Receive deliveries, check weights and reject short-dated produce.
Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
Cook for banquets and conference lunches of 100 to 400 guests.
Log fridge and freezer temperatures twice a shift on the HACCP sheet.
Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
Label, date and rotate stock using first-in, first-out.
Prep veg, sauces, marinades and portions from the daily mise en place list.

What you need

You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts
Good knife skills and you can prep at speed
1 to 3 years in a busy commercial kitchen
Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal
