Plant Operator (Concentrator)

The gold processing plant near Potchefstroom needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Potchefstroom-based, with most of your time spent at a gold processing plant. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation

• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant

• Forklift or overhead crane licence
• Control room experience
