Plant Operator (Concentrator)

Keep throughput up and the plant stable at the iron ore beneficiation plant near Tembisa. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Tembisa-based, with most of your time spent at an iron ore beneficiation plant. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens
• Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence

• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science

• Forklift or overhead crane licence
• Control room experience
• N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
