Planter Operator (Maize) – Fixed-Term

You'll drive tractors and farm machines on a sugar cane estate near Mogwase through planting and harvest. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Mogwase-based, with most of your time spent at a sugar cane estate. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
• Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
• Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
• Plant rows straight, using GPS guidance where the tractor has it
• Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers

• Available to live on or near the farm
• Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
• Basic understanding of implements and settings
• At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm

• Harvest bonus at season end
• Farm housing with water and electricity
• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Training on new machinery

• A reference from a previous farmer is gold. Ask for it before you leave any farm job.
• List the machines you can drive and the implements you have used. Farmers want to know if you can plant, spray or harvest on day one.
