Planter Operator (Maize)

If you know tractors, a wheat farm near Randburg has steady work for you. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at a wheat farm. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
• Plant rows straight, using GPS guidance where the tractor has it
• Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
• Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed

• Can read job cards and spray instructions
• Basic understanding of implements and settings
• Available to live on or near the farm
• Reliable and sober on duty
• Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons

• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Harvest bonus at season end
• Farm housing with water and electricity
• Training on new machinery
