Plasterer (Internal and External Walls)

Good, straight work gets noticed on this shopping centre extension in Randburg, and so does turning up every day. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Location: Randburg, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Wear your hard hat, boots and harness wherever the foreman says
• Mix mortar and plaster to the right ratio for the job
• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Cut, bend and tie reinforcing steel to the bending schedule
• Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings

• Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside
• Punctual every morning, even in winter
• Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible
• Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements
• Willing to move between sites in the same city

• CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade
• Trade test in bricklaying, carpentry or plastering
• Your own trowels, levels and tile cutter

• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• Transport from a pick-up point to site
• Weekly or fortnightly pay, always on time

• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
• Say which trade you are strongest in first. "Bricklayer, 6 years, face brick" is better than "general construction".
