Playgroup Facilitator (Mornings) – Fixed-Term

You'll care for and teach young children at a workplace day care centre in Secunda, from nappies to first letters. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Secunda-based, with most of your time spent at a workplace day care centre. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
• Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
• Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went
• Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
• Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
• Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal

• Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
• ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
• Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
• Paediatric first aid certificate

• Add one sentence about an activity you ran that the children loved; it shows you can plan, not just supervise.
• Apply for the Form 30 check early, as it can take weeks and many creches won't appoint without it.
