Job Description

Know your way around SANS 10254 and a geyser drip tray? The insurance repair contractor in Isando wants to hear from you. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Isando. Relocation is not covered for this one.

What you'll actually do

Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations
Fit toilets, basins, showers and mixers to the client's chosen finishes

Must-haves

Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs

Extra points for

Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience
Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations
