Job Description

Every wall and slab on this school building project in Vanderbijlpark needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Vanderbijlpark-based, with most of your time spent at a school building project. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

What your day looks like

Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day

What you need

Prepared to travel between sites in the area
Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Grade 8 or higher
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE

Helpful, not essential

Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database
Previous site work you can show with a reference
