Plumber's Helper (Residential) – Permanent

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a shopping centre renovation in Welkom can keep building. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a shopping centre renovation in Welkom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
• Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
• Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
• Clear rubble and load it into skips
• Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
• Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed

• Grade 8 or higher
• Willing to start early, often at 06:30
• You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
• Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
• A clean record is preferred for some government sites
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan

• Paid weekly or fortnightly
• Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
