Job Description

You'll sort out burst geysers, leaks and blockages for the commercial building contractor in Centurion. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a commercial building contractor in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens
Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations

You'll need

Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254

Nice if you have

Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience
SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations
