Job Description

Patients meet you first at this private hospital admissions office in Umhlanga, so calm and clear matters. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Code consultations and procedures with ICD-10 and CCSA or NHRPL tariffs
Send monthly statements and age the debtors book
Open patient files and capture consent forms in line with POPIA
Check medical aid membership and benefits before each consultation
Submit claims electronically and work through the rejection report daily
Request pre-authorisation for scans, procedures and admissions

What you need

Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes
Experience on a practice system such as GoodX, Elixir, Medinol or Healthbridge
You keep patient information private, every time
At least 2 years in a medical practice, hospital or billing bureau
Friendly on the phone and firm about outstanding accounts
Matric

Extra points for

Experience with hospital case management and pre-auth
Understanding of how HPCSA practitioner and BHF practice numbers are used on claims
Medical terminology or clinical coding certificate
