Job Description

Parents at this community creche in Pinetown trust you with their children every morning. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The work is in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What your day looks like

Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting
Set up daily learning areas for art, blocks, reading and fantasy play

Must-haves

Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
Warm, patient and energetic with small children
Matric
ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
Paediatric first aid certificate

Helpful, not essential

Experience with children with special needs
Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
