Production Assistant (Chemical Blending)

Here in Bellville, a meat processing plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Bellville, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects

• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Path to machine operator after six months

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
