Production Line Worker (Food Factory)

Here in Boksburg, a soft drink bottling plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Boksburg, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Available for rotating day and night shifts

• Some basic first-aid training
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
