Job Description

Machines set the pace at this industrial bakery in Coega; you keep up and catch the faults. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Coega (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects

What you need

Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

Helpful, not essential

A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
Some basic first-aid training
