Professional Nurse (Theatre)

Patients in this step-down and sub-acute facility in Mamelodi count on your clinical judgement every single shift. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Mamelodi, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Supervise enrolled nurses and nursing assistants on your side of the ward
• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders
• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register

• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice

• Post-basic qualification in critical care, theatre or advanced midwifery
• IMCI and NIMART training for primary health care work
• Unit manager or shift leader experience

• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay
• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
