Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the residential security estate in Harrismith. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a residential security estate in Harrismith. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests

• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills

• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites

• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
