Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

The residential security estate in Montague Gardens needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a residential security estate in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant

• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
