Public Area Cleaner (Hotel) – Experienced

You'll turn rooms around at a conference hotel in Rosslyn so every guest walks into a room that feels new. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a conference hotel on the Rosslyn side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry

• Grade 10 or matric
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Well groomed

• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
