Qualified Electrician (Residential Installations) – Permanent

The solar and backup power installer in Pretoria East needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Pretoria East; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients

• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
