Qualified Motor Mechanic (Passenger Vehicle Dealership)

Good with a scan tool and a torque wrench? This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Phalaborwa needs you in a bay. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Phalaborwa-based, with most of your time spent at a fast-fit tyre and service centre. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed

• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Your own basic toolbox
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop

• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience

• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Tool allowance or tool insurance
