Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory)

Here in Bellville, a furniture assembly factory needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a furniture assembly factory in Bellville. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product

• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
