Job Description

Machines set the pace at this snack food factory in Benoni; you keep up and catch the faults. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Benoni; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects

Must-haves

No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

Nice if you have

Some basic first-aid training
A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
