Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory)

You'll keep the line running at a plastic moulding plant in Centurion, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Centurion, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Available for rotating day and night shifts

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• Some basic first-aid training

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
