Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory)

You'll keep the line running at a meat processing plant in Epping, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Epping, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• Some basic first-aid training

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
