Quantity Surveyor (Building Contractor)

Make sure every rand on site is counted, claimed and certified for the main building contractor in Centurion. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a main building contractor on the Centurion side of Gauteng.

• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard

• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Study support for an honours degree
