Quantity Surveyor (Building Contractor)

Make sure every rand on site is counted, claimed and certified for the property development company in Midrand. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs

• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
