Quantity Surveyor (Building Contractor)

The quantity surveying practice in Lephalale needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Lephalale. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early

• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Study support for an honours degree

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
