Quantity Surveyor (Building Contractor)

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the civils and earthworks contractor in Mbombela. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Mbombela (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard

• Study support for an honours degree
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
