Quantity Surveyor (Building Contractor)

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the main building contractor in Roodepoort. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Roodepoort; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
