Rapid Response Officer (Farm Security) – Fixed-Term

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Benoni. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Benoni (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course

• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• Advanced driving course
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
• Put your firearm competency and armed response course at the top. Without both, the CV is not read further.
