Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a business park in Khayelitsha. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a business park on the Khayelitsha side of Western Cape. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

Must-haves

SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Calm under pressure and physically fit

Extra points for

First-aid Level 2 or 3
Advanced driving course
Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
