Reading Intervention Tutor (Foundation Phase) – Experienced

You'll help learners who are stuck finally get it, one session at a time, for a matric rewrite college in Durban Central. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Durban Central; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
• Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
• Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
• Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
• Write a short progress note for parents after each session
• Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment

• Own transport for home tutoring posts
• Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
• Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts

• Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
• Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
