Job Description

Blend in, watch closely and act lawfully: that is loss prevention at a retail distribution centre in Ballito. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Ballito. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What your day looks like

Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Share trends with the store manager each week
Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers

Must-haves

Discreet, observant and honest
Able to handle confrontation calmly
Good report writing
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act

Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Experience giving evidence in court
