Job Description

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a supermarket in eMalahleni before they cost jobs. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a supermarket on the eMalahleni side of Mpumalanga. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Share trends with the store manager each week
Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers

Must-haves

PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
Good report writing
Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act

Extra points for

Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Experience giving evidence in court
Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
