Receiving Bay Security Checker

Retail in Midrand runs on thin margins, and a supermarket needs someone guarding its stock. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Tag high-value stock and check security tags at the doors

• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• Able to handle confrontation calmly
• Good report writing
• Discreet, observant and honest
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends

• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
• Retail loss prevention course

• Staff discount at the retailer
• Retail trading hours, no night shift in most stores
• Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)

• Give numbers on your CV: how many cases you opened, how many led to arrests. Retail security managers trust results.
• Keep your appearance low-key for the interview. Detectives need to blend in with shoppers.
