Reception Security Officer (Office Tower) – Fixed-Term

Steady 12-hour shifts at an office tower in Worcester for PSIRA-registered officers. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Worcester. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clean criminal record
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• Put your PSIRA number and grade right under your name. Recruiters check it on the PSIRA system before they even phone you.
