Recoveries Consultant (Written-Off Accounts)

Collections at a vehicle finance collections floor in Vanderbijlpark is about firm, fair conversations and steady numbers. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Vanderbijlpark. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
• Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
• Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
• Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

• Matric
• Clear credit and criminal record
• Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
• At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
• Target-driven and comfortable with commission
• You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not

• Monthly incentives for the top three collectors
• Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you
• Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays

• Show your collection results as numbers (for example "collected R420 000 a month against a R350 000 target").
• If you are already registered with the Council for Debt Collectors, put your registration number near the top of your CV.
