Job Description

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the engineering consultancy in eMalahleni. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in eMalahleni. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend

What you need

Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Able to manage contractors and budgets
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Code 08 licence for site visits

Helpful, not essential

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Finite element analysis skills
Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
