Job Description

This materials handling equipment manufacturer in Polokwane needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a materials handling equipment manufacturer in Polokwane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347

What you need

BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Code 08 licence for site visits
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
