Job Description

This materials handling equipment manufacturer in Worcester needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a materials handling equipment manufacturer in Worcester. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What your day looks like

Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners

What you need

Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Code 08 licence for site visits
