Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this solar and battery project developer in Cape Town CBD needs a sharp electrical engineer. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a solar and battery project developer. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres

What you need

Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
