Relief Cleaner (Multiple Sites)

Early starts, clear routines and a steady contract at an university campus in Mamelodi. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Mamelodi-based, with most of your time spent at an university campus. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Refill toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers
• Clean glass doors and internal windows without streaks
• Empty bins and take waste to the correct recycling or general skip
• Report broken fittings, leaks or empty stock to the site supervisor
• Clean the kitchenette, wash cups and wipe down the fridge and microwave
• Wipe desks, door handles, lift buttons and light switches
• Mix cleaning chemicals at the dilution shown on the label, never by guesswork

• Grade 10 or higher
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks
• Clean criminal record for most corporate sites
• Able to stand, bend and walk for a full shift
• Able to start early, often 05:00 or 06:00

• Chemical handling training from a supplier or contractor
• Previous contract cleaning experience with a reference

• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured
• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• Paid overtime for weekend deep cleans
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules

• Mention any machines you can use, like a scrubber or polisher. Machine cleaners are harder to find and often get picked first.
• Ask a former supervisor if you can put their number on your CV. Cleaning contractors almost always phone a reference.
