Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this solar and battery project developer in Mthatha needs a sharp electrical engineer. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Mthatha-based, with most of your time spent at a solar and battery project developer. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

Must-haves

ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
