Job Description

This food and beverage factory in Coega needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Coega-based, with most of your time spent at a food and beverage factory.

What you'll actually do

Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend

You'll need

Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Code 08 licence for site visits
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Able to manage contractors and budgets

Helpful, not essential

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Finite element analysis skills
Project management certificate
