Job Description

You'll turn messy data into reports managers actually use, for a short-term insurer in Somerset West. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Somerset West, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Write SQL to pull, join and clean data from several sources
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel

Must-haves

Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
Careful with sensitive customer data
Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Advanced Excel

Nice if you have

Python with pandas for data wrangling
Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
