Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse)

Good service at a hotel restaurant in Mogwase starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Mogwase-based, with most of your time spent at a hotel restaurant. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.

• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Quick with basic maths and card machines

• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint

• Staff meal on every shift
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
