Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse)

You'll look after tables at a sports bar and grill in Sasolburg, from the first greeting to the final bill. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The work is in Sasolburg, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.

• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Quick with basic maths and card machines

• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Staff meal on every shift
