Returns Processing Hand

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a spares and hardware warehouse in Gqeberha, and nobody minds if it's your first job. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Gqeberha (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin

• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift

• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
